Join Us or Dye is a offshoot organization founded by ex-JUOD members, mostly ex-hippies, who eventually grew disenchanted with Harley P. Mathewson and wanted to create an organization following their philosophical interests. The group promotes living in their commune, or, at a minimum, the constant wearing of tie-dyed shirts.

History

The group was founded a few days after Woodstock in August of 1969. Most of the members, still tripping on acid from the drug-induced festival, decided to form the group after bathing in a nearby river. Soon after, they formed a commune in upstate New York, where they have secluded themselves, producing mass quanities of tie-dyed shirts, pushing them onto middle-schoolers, collegiate hacky sack players, and marijuana addicts.

Current Activity

The group also sells at Grateful Dead and Dave Mathews Band concerts, and actively follows the band OAR around with their wares. It is suggested that the Join Us or Dye tie-dyed shirts make up nearly two-thirds of all tie-dyed shirts sold, or roughly 66 or 67 out of the 100 purchased annually.

Join Us or Dye's Proposition

The Join Us or Dye proposition, of course, usually differs significantly from JUOD's The Proposition. Usually, Dyers (as they call themselves) give the proposition thusly:

Join Us or Dye, man. If you don't, whatever. Groovy, man.
