People For the Unethical Treatment of Animals, commonly known as PUTA, is spin-off group from PETA that disagrees with the organization's policy toward notorious animal joiner Awesome McBear. It was founded by a one-armed gypsy who suffered at the hands of the bear. It has formed groups in the United States, EU, and Mexico. Needless to say, the Mexican branch of PUTA has had a difficult time with meetings, as many of those showing up do not seem to be interested in animal treatment at all. Other confusion from Spanish-language Googlers has caused PUTA's web site to be overrun with viruses and spam.
