Wendell Carrier

Wendell Carrier is a notable obese rights advocate. As executive director of the Betterment of Lone Overweight Brothers Society (BLOBS), he advocates for such things as single payment for two airline seats, larger hallways in buildings, and increased load-bearing elevators. Carrier has been a large critic of the proposed policies of Harley P. Mathewson toward the morbidly obese promulgated during Mathewson's 2008 presidential campaign, leading Mathewson to nickname him "Aircraft Carrier" or "Wendell's Donut House." He also founded the overweight dance group Thunder Steps.

Many scholars remain puzzled as to why Carrier still remains alive—since Mathewson has a bit of a habit of eliminating those he considers to be a thorn in their side—but the increased weight gain Carrier has continued to have has led some to suggest Mathewson is preferred to watch Carrier, as Mathewson once put, off-handedly, "blow up real slow-like."
